Pathway of magnificent views with fun stops for children The Haunsberg with its magnificent views is ideal for a panoramic walking tour. It will take around 3 hours to complete on easy, undulating pathways, with views right across the Salzburg Lake District, including the Buchberg, the Salzkammergut lakes and mountains region, the Osterhorn group, the city of Salzburg, the northern limestone alps, the Untersberg, the Watzmann and the bavarian pre-alpine hills between Tittmoning and Laufen, - also down the Salzach valley. In addition it’s worth knowing about the geological origin of the area, the formation of the forests, the wild life and also the varied history of how people used to live.
There is plenty to occupy children! They can work out how mountains are formed and deformed , climb up raised stands, observe the animals and try out the slide. Sitting on a throne cut out of tree roots they can really imagine they are „King of the Castle“!
