When you look down from above on a sunny day over the village with its blue lake, you will be thrilled ...

First, you might want to sit down on a bench by the little fountain in the market square ... And then continue in the direction of the castle. Because this picturesque building on the Schlossberg magically attracts the eye. The summer residence of the Salzburg prince archbishops until the 17th century ... is now used as a café-bistro. Or as a venue for the "Diabelli Summer", the Leonardo Art Academy and atmospheric weddings.

Fancy a drive in a smart vintage car? Want to experience technology up close and personal? Then you shouldn't miss the fahr(T)raum! On the site of a former shoe factory with its unique industrial charm, you'll find hands-on technology that will delight visitors of all ages. In addition to the museum, historic racing cars, tractors, aeroplanes ... you could - with or without children - take part in exciting races on the Carrera track or try out the vintage car simulators.

Do you like sightseeing from the water? Then make yourself comfortable on the "Seenland" ... and enjoy. By the way, the Mattseer lido has a tradition: opened in 1928, it has been largely preserved in its original structure. But Mattsee is family-friendly - so they have added a water slide, diving tower and volleyball courts. In the Weyer Bay there is the historic "Bajuwaren-Gehöft", an adventure playground, a tennis court, a miniature golf course and a Kneipp facility.

The Mattseer Advent: A festival of anticipation

The festive pre-Christmas season is just around the corner again, and the Mattsee community is looking forward to cordially inviting you to the annual Mattseer Advent. This traditional festival promises to warm the hearts of visitors with pre-Christmas cheer and numerous highlights.

An enchanting ambience
The Mattseer Advent transforms the market square and its surroundings into a wonderful, glittering place with Christmas lights. The festively decorated town and the lovingly decorated wooden huts on the lakeside promenade create an inviting atmosphere that invites you to stroll and linger. The scent of mulled wine, roasted almonds and fresh pastries fills the air and creates a feast for the senses.

Handicrafts and gift ideas
The numerous stalls offer a wide selection of handmade gifts and artisan products, perfect for finding unique presents for your loved ones. From hand-painted Christmas tree decorations to hand-knitted woollen goods, there is something to suit every taste.

Musical performances
Mattseer Advent would not be the same without the wonderful musical performances. Choirs and music groups from the region contribute to the festive atmosphere and spread the sounds of Christmas.
