In the middle of the Salzburg Lake District lies the friendly little village of Köstendorf.

It is an ideal starting point for excursions to the nearby Wenger Moor on the banks of the lake Wallersee  or a gentle walk along the Arno trail up the slopes of the Tannberg.

Köstendorf was always a traditional place of pilgrimage and the inhabitants are still proud of their many old corner shops,  bakery, and  a farming museum showing a typical farmhouse parlour and tools.

Köstendorf has recently opened a fun park called Vulcanino, where children from 0 – 14 years can  run off their energy in an area of about  6.000m2 in total , which  includes 2.500 m2 of indoor playground with trampolines, climbing towers, inflatable jumpers, slides and high-rope park .

Holidays on the farm are very popular in Köstendorf,  often including guided tours of the farm, through the woods and visits to a beekeeper.  Ideal for familes.
