Resorts in the Salzburg Lake District

15 idyllic villages and market towns are grouped around the Wallersee, Mattsee, Grabensee and Obertrumersee in the province of Salzburg, but two of them are located in the neighbouring province of Upper Austria. They are all centuries-old villages with an intact infrastucture and a historical village well or fountain as centrepiece.

Seekirchen and Neumarkt, both near the lake Wallersee, are market towns, which are good for shopping.

Berndorf bei Salzburg

The rural district of Berndorf lies at the foot of the Haunsberg hill in Flachgau, the northern part of the province of Salzburg.

Lochen am See

Lochen is situated north of lake Mattsee and an ideal spot to relax for everyone

The village is situated on the south-west bank of the Mattsee and due to its particular location is often referred to as the Venice of the Salzburg Lake District

Neumarkt is located on the north bank of the Wallersee and has a lot to offer in the culinary and cultural fields.

Oberndorf

Oberndorf is bedded in the gentle green hills of the pre-alpine region and close to the Mozart city of Salzburg.

Obertrum am See is situated on the south bank of the Obertrumersee, - ideal for young or old.

Perwang am Grabensee

The village of Perwang is on the border to the province of Upper Austria and in days gone by was centre of customs
