Lochen am See

Lochen am See lies on an elevated plain, surrounded by woods, lakes and meadows. The beautiful parish church with its famous baroque high altar, the subsidiary church in Gebertsham with a late-gothic winged-altar and the small  church in Astätt, all play a part in Lochen’s cultural tradition.  The views from the Tannberg over the pre-alpine countryside and the Innviertel area are delightful, a perfect place for walking. A natural beach in Gebertsham is ideal for families.

Lochen am See offers its guests a variety of activities, such as long walks or hikes, horse-riding, trips in a horse-drawn carriage, cycling,-  many tracks leading to interesting original settings of the early bavarian-austrian jurisdiction.
There are many cosy pubs and restaurants offering local dishes and neat rooms, also holidays on the farm.
Many sights in this region can easily be visited and excursions made  –  for example the Mozart city of Salzburg (25 km), the „Silent Night“ Chapel in Oberndorf (30 km), the Salzkammergut lakes and mountains  area, Braunau am Inn (25 km) or Burghausen in Bavaria.
