TOURISMUS - MATTSEE

The lake Mattsee is located  in the heart of our region, only 18 km from the festival city of Salzburg, along with the lakes Grabensee and Obertrumersee (also known as the Trumer Seenland) . A small, beautiful and interesting area with its pretty bays, romantic spots and a varied countryside.

It is also very close to the city of Salzburg and has developed a name as cultural centre. Parallel to the Salzburg Music Festival  there is  the Diabelli Sommer, where a series of high-quality concerts are performed from June until autumn.

In addition in August  there are the Schlossbergspiele, plays performed by amateur actors and actresses in an openair  theatre.

Guests can expect unforgettable moments with walks along the promenade, a visit to the sailing school with boat hire and up on the Schlossberg, where you can sit and take in the glorious view on the  terrace of the Schloss Café.

Having visited the Stiftsmuseum (church museum) and the Ferdinand Porsche fahr(T)raum (veteran car museum),  there are plenty of restaurants and traditional hotels with regional specialities to enjoy.

The lake has beaches and offers a boat trip on the Seenland, a large boat for 50 persons. There are also opportunities  for hiring a rowing, pedal or electric boat, for parttaking in the many water sports, for wandering through the Buchberg National Park or just for learning about the history of the village – extras which make an impression and your  holiday unforgettable
