Slow Bike Tour

Distance:   163 km

The “3  EuRegio Gipfel”  (3 EuRegio Peaks),-  the Gaisberg forest reserve, the Högl with its biotopes and the Buchberg Nature Park are all favourites with sporty cyclists.
Starting at Salzburg a route of 163 km, partly in Bavaria, leads to Grödig, Bad Reichenhall, Wals, Piding, Laufen, Oberndorf, Berndorf, Perwang, Seeham, Mattsee, Seekirchen, Hallwang and back to Salzburg.

The second leg starts in Oberndorf, well-known for its Silent Night Chapel, and runs over meadows and through woods, along the Grabensee Nature Reserve, through the Organic village of Seeham to Mattsee with its Buchberg Nature Park (801m). From a lookout tower there is a fantastic view of 120 alpine peaks across the undulating Salzburg Lake District.
The childrens’ play area and the erratic boulder park are good places for the whole family to take a break.

From Mattsee and Buchberg the route takes you to Seekirchen am Wallersee, the warmest lake in the province of Salzburg, then Eugendorf, from where the track runs along the old Ischlerbahn railway line and alongside the river Salzach to the old city of Salzburg.
