Various stops around the Mattsee, Grabensee and Obertrumerseecontinue reading
Distance: 41 km
Altitude: 370 m
Starting point for this cycling tour is the parking area at the lakeside beach in Seekirchen.
Nearby is the first stop in the gardens of the small castle, the Seeburg.
From here the trail continues over fields with view of the lake Wallersee to Fischtagging and then Henndorf, where the local council have cultivated a “Pavillon of Fragrancy”.
Using the quiet side roads via Ölling, St.Brigida with its tiny church and Haslach, the trail reaches Neumarkt. Located here in the district of Wertheim is the Trapp garden centre, showing original ideas for herbal plants in pots. Continuing via Pfongau, Steindorf, Stadlberg and Irrsdorf the trail brings you to Strasswalchen for a welcome break in one of the coffee shops. The secondary school here has cultivated a small herb garden.
Continuing the tour over fields and meadows with superb views into the Alps, you arrive in Köstendorf and the deanery Seelenbräu garden, which the famous author Carl Zuckmayer described in his books.
The last stretch of the tour back to Seekirchen runs via Schleedorf, where, along with the gorge, Tiefensteinklamm, the local authorities have developed a peaceful encounter or shared area, well-equipped with wooden sunbeds for relaxing.
Interactive data for online cycling tours and the new updated cycling map are still in preparation.
