Wallersee Circular Tour

Starting point here is the parking area belonging to the lakeside beach, close to the small castle, Schloss Seeburg, situated on a slight embankment. The route runs along the west bank of the Wallersee, following a railway line in direction of Zell.

From there the track runs over fields and meadows in the direction of Huttich, skirting the protected nature reserve, Wenger Moor. Once having arrived in the southern moor area, it is worth taking a break now and then to explore the unique fauna and flora.

Having passed by the moor there are fabulous views of the lake. Then  via Maierhof it’s on to the little marina, which lies in the east bay of the Wallersee near Neumarkt.

Along the south bank of the lake the track passes several summer homes and pretty places to stop and take a break. South of the village of Henndorf the track reaches Fischtagging, where the river Fischach joins the lake.
This is a good opportunity to visit the lock, which regulates boats between the river Fischach and lake Wallersee.  A short ride and you are back in Seekirchen at your starting point.
