Tannberg Route

Length: 29 km
Altitude: 250m
Time: 2,45 min

The Tannberg circular trail leads all around the Tannberg hill, on the border between the provinces of Salzburg and Upper Austria.

The route starts in Köstendorf at a parking area in front of the local council offices (Gemeindeamt) and the church. It leads away from main roads onto small country roads with little traffic or onto existing bicycle tracks.

The trail goes over green fields around the foot of the Tannberg to  Enharting, on the eastern side of this forested hill.  Further to Lengau and Lochen am See.

From the various small, undulating hills en route there are spectacular views across the lake Mattsee to the Northern Alps.

Continuing along the south bank of the Mattsee, through Reitsham, Schalkham and Guglmoos, past the Egel lakes to Schleedorf, the Fischachmühle (mill) and arriving in Köstendorf.
This circular tour doesn’t take in any difficult hills and is suitable for the whole family.
