Hikers are on the literature trail Travelling in the footsteps of the writer and storyteller Franz Braumann<\/b>. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Franz Braumann, this theme trail was built in 2010 by the municipality of K\u00f6stendorf and a cultural initiative.<\/p>\n

At 12 display boards<\/b> along the route, the variety of Franz Braumann's different literary directions and many fields of interest are shown. <\/b>The literature trail can be used as Varied walk for the whole family - from young to old <\/b>- be recommended. The literary range of the writer and honorary citizen of the municipality of K\u00f6stendorf, who died in 2003, extends from sagas and children's and youth literature to stories and novels, poetry, books on history and world travel, plays and biographies of very different personalities.<\/p>\n

And one is not only in the stories and tales but also in nature, literally \"on the trail of Franz Braumann\". There, on the forest-covered southern foothills of the Tannberg, the writer took his daily walk for many decades. Especially there, surrounded by beautiful nature and in the silence of the mixed forest, he was able to collect the thoughts for his countless stories.<\/p>\n

Starting from the village square in K\u00f6stendorf, you can walk through the 3.6 km long literature trail and also be inspired by the combination of nature and literature. Passing the worth seeing former pilgrimage church, the deanery parish church of K\u00f6stendorf, the path leads north and halfway up the hill to the Tannberg again in an arc - passing the local history museum and the writer's residence - through a small idyllic lane back to the starting point. The local history museum in the centre of K\u00f6stendorf has a permanent exhibition on Prof. Braumann. Many of his books and his typewriter are on display.
