The towns of Laufen and Oberndorf have jointly created the augmented reality theme trail Schiffer.Stadt.Laufen&Oberndorf, which has been open to the public since summer 2025. Augmented reality is the visualisation of 2D and 3D views that are projected into the real world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The circular trail starts with the Salzach floodplains, which are a valuable area worth protecting in Laufen and Oberndorf. The themed trail, which shows the history of the two towns, leads through the towns of Laufen and Oberndorf, along the Salzach river with a view of the town opposite.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

With the help of modern animations and historical views, which have been used at the various stations, the history of the city becomes more vivid and comprehensible for young and old. The themed trail stretches along the Salzach loop. There is a QR code on each of the 7 information boards, which you can use to embark on a journey to find out more about the historical story between the towns of Laufen and Oberndorf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Special exhibition at the Silent Night Museum<\/strong>
In addition to the theme trail, a special exhibition at the Silent Night Museum Oberndorf is dedicated to the contents of the circular trail. The exhibition opens in mid-November and offers further insights into the town's history and also sheds light on the significance of the Salzach for both towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
