Unlimited organic delights: the „BiOS erleben“ platform connects regions of culinary excellence across national borders

The three neighbouring regions – Salzburg’s Seenland, Waginger See and the Quellenviertel in Upper Austria – are all committed to sustainable tourism. With the expanded platform www.bios-erleben.com This creates a digital experience space that showcases organic producers, accommodation providers and events on an interactive map.

Laufen / Region, June 2026 – The cross-border project „BiOS erleben“ was launched back in 2022. The aim of this expansion is to raise the profile of organic experiences in the region and to boost sustainable tourism.

The platform www.bios-erleben.com connects organic farms, producers and tourist attractions in the three partner regions. „We want to show just how closely organic farming, regional value creation, gastronomy and tourism are linked,“ explains Eva Bernauer, Managing Director of the Waginger See Experience Region.

Discover organic produce – across borders

The portal offers a handy overview of more than 100 organic producers, farm shops and artisan producers, particularly for holidaymakers staying in holiday let properties. From regional specialities to direct-to-consumer sellers, a wide range of options is brought together – across borders and at a glance.

„Thanks to the collaboration between the partner regions, the organic sector is taking on a whole new dynamic,“ emphasises Georg Bachleitner, Managing Director of the Quellenviertel. „It’s wonderful to see that organic knows no boundaries.“

A holiday with a purpose

Under the slogan „Holidays with a Purpose“, the platform showcases experiences such as farmers’ markets, bread-baking and cheese-making courses, and seminars on sustainable food. Visitors gain direct insights into the work of producers and how regional products are made.

„With this authentic offering, which also showcases our cultural landscape, we have created a real competitive advantage,“ says Franz Keil, chairman of the Trumer Organic Wine Region Seenland.

Organic living as a way of life
The range of services is complemented by selected organic restaurants and BiOS accommodation. „Locals and visitors alike are given comprehensive access to cross-border organic offerings and can experience first-hand the diversity of sustainable agriculture and regional culinary culture,“ says Manuela Bacher, Managing Director of Salzburg’s Seenlands.

At the heart of the accessible website is an interactive map that makes it particularly easy to find regional organic produce.
