A festival of anticipation from 29 November to 21 December 2025 - Each weekend during Advent
Enjoy the pre-Christmas atmosphere on the market square, in the Weyer Bay, in the inns and along the lakeside promenade. Because there is so much to discover and marvel at in Mattsee, even in winter. Christmas music and the scent of mulled wine and homemade goods fill the air!
Advent market by the lake
The Advent market by the lake is organised by Erlebniswelten fahr(T)raum Mattsee with the support of the clubs, the Stiftskeller, the tourism association and the municipality.

„Advent market opening“:
Official opening on Saturday, 6 December 2025 from 16:15 with a welcome and musical introduction by the traditional music band
„Children's and Family Advent“ in fahr(T)raum:
Saturday, 06.12.2025 - 14:00 - 16:30 - free admission from 14:00. Colourful supporting programme with music, face painting, races on the Carrera racetracks and much more.

„Hostel Search & Charity Event“:
Hostel search from 15:30 & charity event from 17:30 on Sunday, 21 December 2025 with musical accompaniment by the Trachtenmusikkapelle Mattsee.
"Mattseer Advent lights" | Traditional lantern trail
The candle lights of 40 lanterns with artistic silhouettes lead from the Weyerbucht, Schlossbergweg, Bajuwarengehöft to the Advent market by the lake. Enjoy the idyllic Lantern path, in the pre-Christmas period until after New Year's Eve.
The wish fulfilment tree
One tree has a very special role again this year: the "Wish fulfilment tree" at the market place in front of the Café Neuhofer. On it hang the wishes collected by the Flachgauer Tafel. Each wish on this tree represents the hope of a special Christmas present for people in our region who are less fortunate. This heart-warming campaign is organised by the polytechnic school Mattsee, which makes it possible for many wishes to come true. And this is how it works: To the description
