Golfing at Gut Altentann
A special highlight for golf lovers in Salzburg's Seenland is the renowned Gut Altentann Golf Club in Henndorf. The 18-hole golf course not only inspires with sporting challenges, but also with fantastic views of the gentle hilly landscape.
Gut Altentann is the first 18-hole golf course designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus, the „Golfer of the Century“, on the European continent. His unmistakable signature is evident in every detail of the course. Challenging fairways, perfectly embedded natural scenery and strategically placed obstacles make every round a special experience.
Training opportunities are not neglected either: spacious practice facilities offer ideal conditions for improving technique, precision and short game.
In 2025, the golf course was the venue for the Austrian Alpine Open as part of the DP World Tour. 2027 the tournament returns to Gut Altentann, alternating every two years between SalzburgerLand and Tyrol (Kitzbühel).
The picturesque Wallersee is located right next to the Altentann estate and offers numerous leisure activities, charming places to stop for refreshments and exciting excursions into Salzburg's Seenland - a region that invites you to explore, enjoy and linger.
