World Championship cycling route

Length: 14 km
Altitude metres: 98 m

In 2006, the 73rd UCI Road World Championships took place in the province of Salzburg. After the start at Mirabellplatz in Salzburg, the time trial competitions took the athletes to Obertrum, from where the men additionally circled the Obertrumer See. 150,000 spectators along the course experienced an exciting race until the end, in which Austrians also played a dominant role for a long time.

To this day, the tour around the Obertrumer See is extremely popular with both sports and leisure cyclists.

The trail leads from Obertrum, along the lake of the same name and past meadows and small fields, to the organic village of Seeham. Then it turns right at Fraham and via Zellhof, the historic estate of the Kollegiatstift Mattsee, to the village of Mattsee, where it is worth taking a short break at the Schlossberg in the Schlosscafé.

Via Mitterhof and Außerhof, the route finally leads back to Obertrum.
