The nationwide Bauernherbst opening festival on Sunday, 27 August 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Obertrum am See promises an unforgettable experience for visitors. The festival takes place in our beautiful Salzburg Seenland and marks the nationwide opening of the 28th Salzburger Bauernherbst. Here are some of the highlights and activities that will take place on the day:
FARMER'S AUTUMN OPENING FESTIVAL
- Procession of the Trachtenmusikkapelle Obertrum am See onto the festival grounds
- Words of welcome by Mayor and Member of Parliament Ing. Simon Wallner
- Opening of the 28th Salzburger Bauernherbst by Deputy Governor Mag. Stefan Schnöll
- Joint beer tapping of the private beer breweries Stiegl & Trumer
- Salute of honour by the Prangerstutzenschützen Obertrum am See
- Folk dance performances by the children's folk dance group D'Seerosner
- Salzburg traditional costume - rethought: the 10 finalists of the Bauernherbst dirndl competition present together with the Salzburg State Theatre their creations
- The splendour of traditional costume - this is how the Landjugend Salzburg dresses
OTHER PROGRAMME ITEMS DURING THE DAY
- Performance of Obertrumer Bandltanz and various folk dances by the local heritage association D'Seerosner
- Schuhplattler performances
- Demonstrations of traditional crafts at the crafts market
- Traditional music during the day and big traditional costume breakfast with the Trachtenmusikkapelle Obertrum am See
- Culinary Bauernherbst delicacies at the stalls and at the Bauernherbst inns

MOTOR-FREE DAY AROUND THE OBERTRUMER LAKE
On the motor-free day, the streets around Obertrumer See belong to cyclists and pedestrians.
Public travel: Regional bus 120 runs hourly from Salzburg main station to Obertrum am See and back. Further info under www.salzburg-verkehr.at
Arrival by car: On the motor-free day, the streets around the Obertrumer See will be closed to motorised traffic from 11:00 a.m. and belong to pedestrians, cyclists and skaters on this day. Please use the car parks at Spar and Hofer in Obertrum am Seen. Arrival and departure is possible from there at any time.
