ATTENTION: Due to urgent logging work, the Haunsberg circular hiking trail from the radar station from 4 February to 31 March 2026 be closed. A temporary restricted forest area has been established. Appropriate information boards have been erected at the access points to the circular hiking trail by the responsible district manager. However, access from the Kaiserbuche inn to the radar station is unhindered.
The Haunsberg, the "Mountain of beautiful views", invites you to a circular walk.
On the beautiful 5 km long circular trail, new windows of view over the Salzburg region and the Bavarian Alpine foothills open up again and again. You will also learn a lot of interesting facts about the region, wildlife and geology along the way.
The Starting point is at the Kaiserbuche Inn on the Haunsberg (car park).
INFORMATION:
Parking space: Kaiserbuche Inn
Directions: Circular trail approx. 5 km, approx. 167 hm, walking time 1 - 3 hours, suitable for children, only the first third of the trail is suitable for prams, not suitable for wheelchairs.
WC: At the Kaiserbuche Inn
Refreshment stop: Kaiserbuche Inn
Sightseeing: The path leads past the Vega Observatory Haus der Natur and past the Austro Control radar facility.
ATTENTION: CYCLING on the entire circular route is PROHIBITED!
